E-commerce is still showing important growth figures every year, despite the crisis. Proof of this is that, in many European countries, up to 40% of surface area devoted to warehouses and logistics centres is due to the needs generated by e-commerce.
In the report “Information Technologies in Spain 2011”, published by the Association of Electronics, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Digital Content Companies, (AMETIC), there were already signs of a growth in E-commerce in Spain of about 15% each year, and this trend has been maintained despite the crisis, as has been confirmed by the 2013 data published by the Telecommunications Market Commission (CMT).
