As part of its commitment to quality and business excellence, ATOX Storage Systems has obtained the Certificate of Compliance of Production Control in the Factory for the Manufacture of Steel Structures “EXC1” and “EXC2” in accordance with the standard EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011, awarded by Bureau Veritas Certification.
This CE mark is only applicable to what are called self-supporting racks. Other metal racking, according to the storage system classification of the UNE EN 15878 Standard, is not considered to be building structures and so do not enter the field of application of the EN 1090 Standard.
Obtaining this certificate demonstrates the permanent growth of the company and confirms that ATOX has a global, efficient production system which conforms to the rigorous requirements set up by this standard.
This certificate, together with those that ATOX already has according to ISO: 9001 and ISO: 14001 also confirm the strong commitment that ATOX has to continuous improvement and its tireless search for new ways and innovative challenges.
The importance of the EC mark
The EC mark, which comes from the French “Conformité Européenne”, means European Compliance. A product which has the EC mark means that that the product has been evaluated before being put in the market and that it meets the EU requirements for safety, health and environmental protection.
Indicating the compliance of a product with the European Union legislation using the EC mark ensures its free movement inside the European Economic Area (EEA). This includes the 28 member states of the EU as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
The thorough Factory Production Control of ATOX racking
ATOX Storage Systems has been designing and manufacturing metal racking and storage systems for more than 50 years, betting on maximum quality and excellence in service for our customers.
ATOX imposes on itself high demands throughout the whole design and manufacturing process of its products which go beyond what is strictly required by the standards in force. ATOX has designed and set up a thorough Factory Production Control (FPC), controlling the raw materials, the production equipment used, establishing methodologies for the design and manufacture and carrying out rigorous quality controls with the ISO: 9001 certificate. All this has made the ATOX production system demonstrate its efficiency and comply with the rigorous EN 1090 Standard requirements.
The racking systems for self-supporting warehouses are characterised, regarding the rest of the metal racking systems, by the fact that the rack itself serves as a support structure for all the construction. This enables a large capacity of storage space in height, optimising the cost and run time since the prior construction of a building is not necessary.
One of the outstanding applications of the self-supporting racks is the construction of high capacity automated warehouses, combining pallet racking with stacker cranes.
